1. TITLE: “Integrated Earthquake Early Warning System for Industrial Site Applications”
ACRONYM: ARIS
NUMBER: Τ1ΕΔΚ-01020
STATUS: Completed
OBJECTIVE: The project aims to the development of an Integrated Early Warning and Seismic Risk Management System for industrial infrastructures. Pilot project application is directed to the facilities of Motor Oil Hellas refinery in Agioi Theothoroi, located in a highly active seismic area, east of Corinth Gulf.

2. TITLE: “Novel Catalytic Processes for the Valorization of Low-Quality Petroleum Fractions towards Upgraded Fuels and Petrochemical Feedstocks”
ACRONYM: PROOFF
NUMBER: Τ1ΕΔΚ-03057
STATUS: Completed
OBJECTIVE: A grave problem of modern oil refining industry is the continuous deterioration of the crude oil quality that necessitates processing of heavy oil feedstock with high contents of sulfur, nitrogen and metals. There is therefore an urgent need to develop novel catalysts and advanced upgrading technologies for converting heavy oil to high added value products. The main objective of the proposed project is the development of two (2) advanced novel refinery processes and the optimization of one (1) existing process for maximizing the yield to high added value products. The 1st process refers to the development of catalytic cracking technology for converting low-value light naphtha cuts to light olefins, mainly propylene. The 2nd technology that will be developed in the project concerns the hydroisomerization of middle distillate cuts for the production of diesel and aviation fuels with improved cold flow properties.
3. TITLE: “Development of a combined chemical and biological process for the deep desulfurization of oil products”
ACRONYM: DeepDesOil
NUMBER: Τ1ΕΔΚ-02074
STATUS: Ongoing
OBJECTIVE: The project objective is to develop, assess and scale-up innovative processes and biocatalysts for the efficient desulphurization of oil fractions, such as Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) and Diesel.
4. TITLE: “Augmented Reality Training for Enhanced Maintenance in Industrial
EnvironmentS “
ACRONYM: ARTEMIS
NUMBER: Τ2ΕΔΚ-03392
STATUS: Ongoing
OBJECTIVE: The goal of this project is to develop a system (software and hardware) of augmented reality (AR) for use in the industrial environment and particularly in the oil & gas industry, by training neural networks, using deep learning technology, in combination with the development of AR applications such as tablets and smart glasses. The training of technical personnel in the industrial environment will take another dimension that will secure speed of training and actions, eradication of errors and saving of resources through the decrease of operational expenses.
