Our employees are our most valuable resource, essential to the achievement of our strategic goals, to the implementation of our growth business plans and in ensuring our long-term competitiveness.

That is why we have established an organised and modern Human Resources Division for our company, aimed at identifying, attracting, developing and retaining qualified employees and executives.

We aim to provide a safe and fair workplace, which promotes trust, team spirit and respect for people, along with effectiveness.

We are committed to providing the best possible working conditions, securing respect for human rights and for the freedom of association, upholding non-discrimination and providing equal opportunities for learning and personal development.

We support equal treatment for men and women, with equal opportunities for all. However, owing to the nature of the work and the skills required at our refinery, the percentage of women employees is relatively low. Thus, in 2018, on average, 12.2% of all employees were female, while at the company’s Offices, the number of women rises to 45.5%. In 2017, women accounted 11% in the total workforce, whereas at the Company’s offices they represented 38%.

According to 2018 data, the average age of company personnel is 44.3 years and the average employment period stands at 16.8 years indicating a high degree of loyalty.

We attach great importance to the educational level of our personnel, and our aim is to attract, develop and retain suitable and competent employees. All of the employees hired for executive positions in 2018 were university graduates.

Investment in ongoing training for our employees is a strategic choice and a key element in the process of aligning our workforce’s skills with the full range of objectives and ambitions of the company.

Therefore, given the critical importance of the issue, MOTOR OIL designs and implements each year, a comprehensive programme of education and in-house training for employees. The basic objective served by this programme, is to continually enrich the vocational knowledge of our employees, expanding their range of skills, while also upgrading their level of technical training, allowing them to carry out their everyday and more long-term tasks.

Therefore, in 2018, 28,440 man-hours were devoted to education and vocational training while 75% of the company's employees were trained.
