Quality

From the start of its operation, MOTOR OIL has concentrated its efforts on the production of products of exact specifications having as a main objective to satisfy its customers´ needs. The Company´s aim is to provide its customers with reliable quality products by engaging in proactive management and preventing potential problems before they arise.

For this reason, in 1992 the company initiated action to develop a Quality Assurance System that would cover all its activities and would fulfill the requirements of the ISO 9002 standard. The certification of this system took place in December 1993 by Bureau Veritas Certification (BV Cert.). Since then the Quality System has become an integral part of MOTOR OIL's operations.

In January 2003 Motor Oil received by the same company the accreditation according to the (then) new standard ISO 9001:2000 for the Quality Management System MOH. In November 2009, the Quality Management System of the company was certified according to the new version of the standard ISO 9001:2008 by Bureau Veritas Certification (BV Cert.), with validity until February 2012 when it was recertified with validity until February 2015.

In December 2014, within the context of the simultaneous evaluation of Company certifications, the ISO 9001:2008 was recertified with validity until December 2017.

The Refinery Chemical Laboratory is certified according to the ISO / IEC 17025:2005. The certification was conducted by the National Accreditation Body (ESYD) with initial validity until September 2010. Since then, the validity of the certificate was extended until September 2014 when it was extended again until September 2018.

Additionally the company has been certified according to CE Marking in compliance with Regulation 305/2011/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 9 March 2011 (the Construction Products Regulation or CPR).This certificate applies to the construction product : Bituminous mixtures,   and conforms to the requirements of the European Standard EN 12591:2009. Following a recertification February 2014, the validity of the certificate was extended until February 2017.

Health and Safety

As part of its policy for Quality, Motor Oil has been committed to incorporate the Health and Safety requirements in its planning, decision making and Refinery operation always considering all Stakeholders.

Within the context of this commitment the Health & Safety Management of the Refinery was revised thoroughly and was certified by Bureau Veritas Certification (BV Cert.) according to the international standard OHSAS 18001:2007 in December 2008. This certification had a three year validity.

In December 2011 the OHSAS 18001:2007 of the Company was recertified by Bureau VeritasCerification (BV Cert.) with validity until December 2014 when it was recertified with validity until December 2017.

Environment

MOTOR OIL is responsible and sensitive to issues pertaining to the protection of the environment and is committed to a constant and organized effort to establish those methods and procedures, which are necessary to establish maximum protection of our environment.
For this reason an Environmental Management System (EMS) was developed and implemented according to the ISO 14001 Standard.

 

The above EMS was certified initially in December 2000 by Bureau Veritas Certification (BV Cert.) according to ISO 14001:1996 and since 2004 it has been certified according to the stricter standard ISO 14001:2004. Following the EMS recertification in January 2013, the validity of the certificate was extended until January 2016.

In December 2014, within the context of the simultaneous evaluation of Company certifications, the EMS was recertified and the validity of the certificate was extended until December 2017.

Our commitment to making public any data relating to our environmental performance and the effects arising from the operation of our facilities, as expressly mentioned in our Environmental Policy, has led to the voluntary adoption and application of the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme EMAS III, as provided for in the European Union Regulation  1221/2009. This system requires that we implement appropriate procedures for the identification of  the material environmental impacts arising from our activities, and define strategies and implement programmes to mitigate them, insofar as is reasonably possible.
